Once Human’s Isles of Abyss scenario sets sail on October 21

Once Human’s ocean-focused Survival Scenario, Isles of Abyss, launches after maintenance on October 21, 2026 PT. It’ll be available across all supported platforms, including PC, console, and mobile, and is being positioned as a PvE scenario built around island exploration, shipbuilding, diving, and naval combat.

The scenario’s main cycle runs for about 21 days, split across two phases. Phase I lasts roughly 5 to 10 days depending on server purification progress, while Phase II runs for 11 days and eventually unlocks the endgame fight against The Sunken Lord. A permanent server for Isles of Abyss is expected to open on November 12, 2026 PT, before the first batch of scenario servers closes.

  • Players can sign up for Isles of Abyss from the scenario selection screen after character creation and the new player experience.
  • The scenario has 12 worlds per server and will not launch with a Vision Tag.
  • An Isles of Abyss Vision World is planned to open later alongside the S5 Vision release.
  • Launch rewards include Legendary Blueprints, Gear Blueprints, a free commemorative weapon skin, and a first-purchase double rebate.
  • Halloween events will run at the same time, with limited cosmetics, Shiny Mods, and other in-game rewards.

The big hook here is ships. Players can build and customize vessels as movable water territories, using hulls, decks, bows, gunwales, handrails, and other ship parts. Ships can also be saved as designs, relocated, summoned, upgraded with propulsion systems, and fitted with cannons for sea fights.

Exploration is split between islands and the ocean itself. Players will beachcomb for supplies, follow treasure maps, dive into shipwrecks and underwater labs, fish for larger sea creatures with the Abyssal Sea Fishing Rod, and deal with hazardous regions called Haywire Zones. These areas can affect visibility, temperature, sanity, and supply use, but they also contain special resources.

Once Human RaidZone is also getting an Isles of Abyss version at launch. Unlike the main PvE scenario, Isles of Abyss: RaidZone focuses on PvP naval competition in the same waters, with scarcer resources and player ships that can be sunk. To enter, players need to switch to RaidZone mode from the character sign-in page and select an Isles of Abyss: RaidZone server.
