Nvidia rolls out DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and expands GeForce Now support
Nvidia brought a pile of PC gaming updates to Gamescom, led by DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction going live through the Nvidia app for all GeForce RTX GPUs. The feature launches with support for 30 games, including Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
The new Ray Reconstruction model is meant for ray-traced and path-traced games, with Nvidia saying it combines denoising and Super Resolution into one model. Developers can also add DLSS 4.5 support to their games through official updates.
- RTX Spark, Nvidia’s upcoming Windows platform for DLSS, Reflex, and on-device AI agents, now has support from Electronic Arts, Embark Studios, and Ubisoft. EA Sports F1 25, Apex Legends, and Arc Raiders are among the games mentioned.
- Gears of War: E-Day, currently slated for October 6, will introduce RTX Mega Geometry, which lets Unreal Engine 5’s Nanite geometry render at full detail in ray tracing.
- Control Resonant will launch with the full DLSS 4.5 suite, including Ray Reconstruction and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, plus path-traced effects.
- 007 First Light adds path tracing and Ray Reconstruction on September 15.
- RTX Remix is getting DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and Multi Frame Generation support, alongside updates for Painkiller RTX and a newly revealed Morrowind RTX mod covering Seyda Neen and Balmora.
- GeForce Now now supports GOG single sign-on and Firefox. Steam Machine, Steam Controller, and Fire TV compatibility are planned for later this year.
The DLSS 4.5 news lands alongside separate debate over DLSS 5, which Nvidia showed earlier in the week. Jensen Huang pushed back on criticism that the tech could interfere with artistic control, saying developers still have direct control over their games, according to a GamesIndustry.biz report.
Nvidia also said some upcoming games will be available to stream on GeForce Now on day one, including Control Resonant and Gears of War: E-Day.
