Nova Era: Atom Opens Steam Playtest for Its Spaceship Extraction MMO

Nova Era: Atom is now playable through a Steam Playtest running until October 11, 2026. The sci-fi MMORPG comes from independent developer Amazing Game and publisher Hype Kid, and mixes spaceship combat, extraction runs, MMO progression, and touches of Chinese mythology.

The playtest gives players access to the String Realm, a strange high-dimensional setting filled with star systems, alien enemies, hidden outposts, and derelict megastructures. The core loop is straightforward: enter Void Space, explore, fight, grab resources, and extract before you lose what you picked up.

Players pilot a customizable Flux-Core Vessel, which can be built around five component types covering weapons, defenses, modifications, and propulsion. Ships can also use hot-swappable chips, letting players adjust their setup during combat rather than waiting until they’re back at base.

Progression carries into the MMO side of the game. Resources brought back from successful runs can be used to craft equipment, build strongholds, and prepare for harder expeditions. The game also includes four classes, with builds shaped by gear, chips, and talents.

Nova Era: Atom can be played solo or in groups, with squads of three to five players supported for tougher trips into Void Space. The playtest is live now on Steam and is scheduled to remain available through October 11, 2026.
