Netmarble outlines Mongil: Star Dive’s launch plans, first event character, and post-launch Episode 6

Netmarble used a new online showcase to lay out what players can expect from MONGIL: STAR DIVE ahead of its global launch on April 15. The publisher focused on the game’s core monster-collecting and combat systems, but also confirmed a few post-launch plans, including Episode 6, a first event summon character named Esther, and future console versions on PlayStation 5 and Xbox. While this is clearly a mobile game, it will also launch on PC through Epic Games Store.

MONGIL: STAR DIVE is a monster-taming action RPG and a follow-up to 2013 mobile game Monster Taming. Its main hook is the “Monsterling Collection” system, which lets players capture, collect, and synthesize monsters. Combat uses a three-character party with real-time tag switching, alongside mechanics like weak point targeting and part destruction.

The showcase also included a first look at a new Legendary Monster called Reginula. Netmarble said Legendary Monsters are meant to serve as a long-term goal for players, tied to tougher and more demanding fights.

On the content side, Episode 6 will take the story to the Far East region after launch. Esther, described as the first event summon character, will be available through an in-game event, and Netmarble says players will also be able to earn rewards like profile backgrounds and growth items. A showcase coupon code was announced as well, though Netmarble only specified that it unlocks the “Artifact: Overflowing Love.”

Outside the game itself, Netmarble said it’s planning online and offline events after launch, including pop-up stores, event zones, merchandise events, and a collaboration café in Taiwan. A separate live broadcast with Japanese voice actors and influencers is scheduled for April 13.

Pre-registration is still open before launch. Netmarble says signing up through the official website grants the character Francis, while App Store and Google Play sign-ups include extra rewards such as summoning tickets.
