Monsters & Memories Patch 0.30.0.0 Cuts Charm Pet Damage Ahead of Early Access

Monsters & Memories has rolled out Beta / Early Access Patch 0.30.0.0, also called Early Access Patch + Module 1, with a notable nerf to charmed NPC damage and a long list of balance, UI, and encounter changes. The patch arrived on September 19, 2026, just ahead of the game’s planned October 1 early access launch.

The biggest gameplay change is aimed at charm. Niche Worlds Cult says charmed pets were often outperforming the value of adding two or three DPS classes to a group, so their damage has been reduced. Charmed NPCs should still help in groups and while soloing, but solo charm play won’t be as efficient as it was before.

  • Charm spell changes affect Enchanters, Elementalists, Druids, Bards, and Necromancers.
  • For classes with summoned pets, charmed pets should still be at least 25% stronger than the summoned option.
  • For classes without a summonable pet, charm is now positioned more as a smaller bonus than a main source of damage.
  • Inquisitors are not affected due to their charm’s long cooldown and short duration.
  • Mesmerization overwrites are now based on spell duration instead of caster level.

Stealth also got some attention. Players and NPCs now get a front-cone proximity detection bonus against stealthed targets. Hide now uses Stealth rather than invisibility, which means it works against Undead, though red-con NPCs will have a larger frontal detection area.

Beyond combat balance, the patch moves most group buffs directly onto spell vendors instead of locking them behind research. There are also UI updates for the ability book, character creation, HUD locking, and buff and state panels, plus tradeskill cost changes, encounter adjustments for Lord Ga’Duuz and Pustulax, more population and starter quest work in Ail’Vorith, and a PvP balance and diminishing returns pass.

The studio also posted new Bard and Enchanter class deep dives on the official site alongside the patch. You can read those in the official post.
