Monsters & Memories Details Cleric, Fighter, and Monk Class Updates
The Monsters & Memories team has published new class deep dives for Cleric, Fighter, and Monk, laying out the current direction for each class and how their designs have changed during development. The short version: Cleric is still built around group healing, Monk has shifted away from an elemental theme, and Fighter is getting more definition through weapon choices and a new Vengeance mechanic.
Monk is keeping much of its earlier kit, but the class now leans more spiritual than elemental. Its three stances remain central: Sun Style for offense, Moon Style for defense, and Wind Style for movement speed plus a chance to land an extra melee hit. Monks also have tools for pulling enemies, splitting larger packs, moving around fights, and picking a Body Mastery bonus.
The Cleric deep dive keeps the class in familiar MMO territory: strong group healing, utility, and holy damage with an anti-undead angle. The team says Clerics now have more class-specific spell versions, including core heals, instead of sharing some spells with other classes. They also get access to Blessed status and a Block skill to help reduce incoming damage.
Fighter, meanwhile, is being framed as the “master of arms.” In the Fighter deep dive, the team outlines Retaliation and Vengeance, a mechanic where taking damage in combat can generate Vengeance stacks. Those stacks can then be spent on certain abilities for added effects.
Weapon requirements are also a bigger part of Fighter’s identity. Some abilities now require specific weapon types, so players can build around a preferred loadout or carry multiple weapons and swap as needed. Since Fighters have fewer raw abilities than most classes, the team says the focus is on making upgrades, cooldowns, and weapon-based choices feel more meaningful.
