MONGIL: Star Dive’s Version 1.2 Update Adds Summer Event, Two 5-Star Characters

Netmarble has released Version 1.2 for MONGIL: Star Dive, bringing a summer event, two new 5-Star characters, a new dispatch feature, and several progression tweaks to the monster-taming action RPG.

The limited-time event, “An Unforgettable First Summer Dive!”, is live now and runs through July 28. It takes players to Summer Lane, a new seasonal map built around a festival theme, with interactive attractions like a water slide and an obstacle course mini-game.

The update’s new characters are Francis: Summer Dive!, an Earth-type Support unit, and Verna: Summer Dive!, a Fire-type Fighter. Netmarble is also running seasonal reward events, including “Summer Special 7-Day Gifts” and “Grand Summer Festival Missions,” with more than 100 summon tickets available alongside other in-game rewards.

Version 1.2 also adds the Dispatch System, which lets players send characters to selected regions to hunt monsters, gather resources, and mine materials automatically. It’s meant to cut down on repetitive grinding while still feeding into character progression.

There’s also a new Monsterling for the Legendary Monster Reginula. When equipped to activate her exclusive Link Chain skill, Reginula can join players in battle and fight alongside their party.

Other changes include Monsterling trait reset and enhancement features, guaranteed success when synthesizing Mutant Monsterlings, higher difficulties for Conquest mode, and additional gameplay improvements based on player feedback.

MONGIL: Star Dive is Netmarble’s successor to the 2013 mobile RPG Monster Taming. The newer game is built in Unreal Engine 5 and mixes monster collecting with real-time tag-based combat using three-character parties.
