Marvel Rivals Season 7 adds White Fox, tees up esports debut, and confirms Switch 2 plans
Marvel Rivals has had a busy start to Season 7. The new season is live now and, as confirmed in the official post, it brings in White Fox as a new Strategist hero. NetEase has also pushed a round of balance changes, added a small event patch, and confirmed that the hero shooter is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.
White Fox is the big gameplay addition here. She joins the roster as a Strategist built around swapping between offense and defense quickly. Season 7 also follows through on earlier teases around Black Cat, though the source here is mostly focused on White Fox’s arrival and the follow-up tuning that came right after launch.
Since the season started, NetEase has made a few balance passes, including one aimed at Captain America’s Sentinel Strike and another that adjusts some of the newer characters. A smaller patch also added a new event and a free emote players can claim from April 1 through April 3.
Outside the live game, Marvel Rivals is about to get its first esports event. The pre-season clash starts Friday, March 27, with details already posted for format, prize pool, and broadcast plans.
There’s also platform news. In an IGN interview, NetEase confirmed a Nintendo Switch 2 version is on the way. There’s no release date yet, but the studio said the version is now in the works after getting access to a dev kit. On the other hand, mobile doesn’t sound like it’s happening, with the developer saying the game doesn’t work well with touchscreen controls.
Marvel Rivals is NetEase’s team-based Marvel shooter, and like most live service hero games, it’s settling into a rhythm of new characters, quick balance patches, and limited-time extras. Season 7 looks like more of that, with White Fox as the headline addition and Switch 2 as the longer-term update.
