Marathon patch 1.0.6 adds a new activity, solo self-revive, and more mid-season changes

Bungie has rolled out Marathon patch 1.0.6, a mid-season update that adds a few new tools for players and makes a round of balance and progression changes. The biggest additions are a new C.A.R.R.I. activity, a new Mercy kit, and a self-revive item for solo runs.

According to the patch notes, the update also refreshes the season pass with extra rewards, improves recon shell buffs, and adds more crew-wide buffs. It went live on Tuesday, a little over a month after the extraction shooter launched in early March.

The new C.A.R.R.I. protocol is built around contract objectives and successful extractions. Bungie says it rewards both solo players and organized crews, so it looks like an attempt to give both playstyles a little more to chase during the season.

The solo self-revive stands out for obvious reasons. In an extraction shooter, being able to recover from a bad fight without squadmates nearby could make solo runs a lot less punishing. The Mercy kit is also new in this patch, though Bungie’s post is where the full details are laid out.

Beyond the headline additions, this is mostly a broad tuning pass. Season pass rewards have been adjusted, recon shell buffs got another look, and crews have more buff options than before. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to jump back in, this is the latest check-in on how Bungie is trying to shore up Marathon’s first season.
