MapleStory Classic World test is live through April 24 as Maple University anniversary event approaches
Nexon’s MapleStory Classic World test is now underway, giving players a limited look at the old-school server ahead of a full release. The current closed online test runs through April 24 and includes two islands, four first-job classes, GM-run events, and a cash shop test that uses earned Leaf Points instead of real money.
According to the official post, Nexon plans to send a feedback survey to participants after the test ends. Early reaction has been mixed so far, with some players enjoying the nostalgia while others have raised issues around class balance, class identity, and rollout hiccups during the opening.
At the same time, the live version of MapleStory is about to start its 21st anniversary event. Nexon has already outlined the Maple University update, which leans hard into a campus theme and adds event activities like club fair minigames, a customizable student ID, login rewards, and a Rowdy Campus Life XP buff skill.
The anniversary event is set to begin later this week, based on MapleStory’s social media announcement. More details on the event’s features are available in the update preview.
So for MapleStory players, there are really two tracks right now: Classic World testing for those curious about the throwback version, and a big anniversary event on the main servers for everyone else.
