La Tale Marks 9 Years on Papaya Play With Devil’s Whisper Update and Name Release

La Tale is celebrating its ninth anniversary on Papaya Play with a new episode launching June 17, titled Devil’s Whisper and Path of Choice. The update adds a new story chapter, two dungeons, fresh progression systems, anniversary events, and a pretty notable cleanup for longtime players: more than 71,000 character names tied to long-deleted characters are being made available again.

The name release applies to characters that were deleted more than 180 days ago. If a name has been sitting unavailable because of an old deleted character, players may now be able to claim it.

  • Devil’s Whisper adds a new town, a new field, two dungeons, and four boss monsters.
  • The new dungeons are split between 4-player and 8-player content.
  • Rewards include Mythic-grade gear, Mythic Boxes, and a new crafting line.
  • Path of Choice introduces Dungeon Points, giving dungeon runs another progression path.
  • Special Enchant and Awakening Stone Crafting systems are also being updated.
  • Quality-of-life additions include Dungeon Favorites, item repeat-use, and quick-use options.

Papaya Play is also continuing class skill renewals for Archmage, Phantom Mage, Shadow Walker, Force Master, and Psykicker as part of the broader update.

For the anniversary itself, La Tale is running a Friend Referral campaign aimed at current, returning, and new players. The event schedule includes the WISH Festival, Priring Sky Lantern Festival, Path of Gifts daily attendance rewards, WISH Festival missions, Burning 5.1, Lucky Pong, Richiring’s Coin Party, Memorial Returns, and Into the Unknown for higher-level players.

One other practical change: La Tale’s server time is moving to Eastern Time. Papaya Play says anniversary event times will be listed in ET going forward.
