Hytale’s Chapter I update adds the Goblin Breach, Runestones, and its first major dungeon
Hytale’s first Early Access chapter, Chapter I: Out of the Breach, is live in Exploration Mode as of October 12. The update sends players to the Forgotten Temple, where a new Goblin Lab opens the path into the Goblin Breach, a timed and regenerating slice of Orbis packed with goblins, Void threats, puzzles, and loot.
According to the official post, the chapter works with both existing Exploration Mode worlds and fresh saves. A new Chapter screen tracks objectives and unlocks, so players have a clearer idea of what to chase next.
- The Goblin Breach is a temporary portal event with a Void timer. Players can push back the Void and upgrade the Goblin Breach Console to stay longer.
- The Guttering Hollows biome adds revamped goblins, Void assassins, hunt sites, traps, treasure encounters, and puzzles.
- New goblin gadgets include the Scrap Drill, Scrap Glider, Rocket Boots, Hookshot, Spyglass, Bangstick, and Goblin Repair Kit.
- Runestones introduce Hytale’s new ability system. Players can equip up to two Ability Runestones and use Modifier Runestones to change how those abilities behave.
- The Deepworks is Hytale’s first handcrafted dungeon, ending in the Gobliterator, a multi-phase boss fight. The Feastmaster also appears as a boss encounter along the way.
- More than 100 cosmetic options have been added, including hairstyles, facial options, hats, earrings, and unlockable Scrap Arcanist and Junk Pilot sets.
The Runestone system launches with seven Ability Runestones, including Fireball, Ground Slam, Wind Strike, Enrage, Imbue Poison, Chain Hook, and Charged Shot. Eight Modifier Runestones are also in, with effects like splitting projectiles, bouncing between enemies, adding bleed or wither effects, or lowering cooldowns at the cost of damage.
Minigames are also part of the Chapter I rollout, though the post notes they’ll be available shortly after the chapter launches. The first two are Prop Hunt, set in a tavern full of disguised players, and Shuffle Jam, a rotating set of 12 party-style microgames including TNT Run, Memory Floor, Tile Flip, and TNT Tag.
Hypixel Studios also says Cursebreaker Edition owners will receive one extra Standard Edition copy for every Early Access chapter released before 1.0, starting with Chapter I.
