Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 Wikis Near Return After Security-Related Downtime

ArenaNet says the official Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 wikis are getting closer to coming back online after more than a week of downtime.

The studio took both wikis offline on October 21 to secure and protect their data following PHP vulnerabilities that affected many websites earlier in the month. As of October 29, they were still unavailable, but ArenaNet said progress is being made.

In a post on X, the Guild Wars 2 account said the team expects to learn more on October 30 and is now focused on checking that the restored content “looks and functions as expected” once more thorough testing is possible.

The downtime has been especially noticeable for Guild Wars 2 players, since the official wiki is a common go-to for finding events, map objectives, and other game information. ArenaNet hasn’t given an exact reopening time yet, but its latest message points to the wikis being in the final stretch before returning.
