Guild Wars Afterlife brings new DLC to Guild Wars Reforged in January 2027

ArenaNet has announced Guild Wars Afterlife, the first new DLC for the original Guild Wars in almost 20 years. It launches January 13, 2027, for Guild Wars Reforged on PC, Steam, the Apple App Store, and Google Play.

The DLC sends existing characters to Xotecha, an isle within the Mists, where players work with the Order of the Moonless Night inside a shifting dungeon called the Unformed. The setup is a little different from classic Guild Wars: each run starts with a chosen loadout, then adds drafted skills as players progress.

Those drafted skills won’t be limited to a character’s primary and secondary professions, which should make builds much less predictable from run to run. ArenaNet says the dungeon will rotate through different maps, encounters, and bosses, with story pieces unfolding across repeat runs.

Afterlife will also include rewards tied to future dungeon runs, plus permanent rewards usable outside Xotecha. Players can run the content with friends or with henchmen.

Pre-purchases are available now at a discounted price of 23.99 USD/EUR, though the exact price may vary by platform and region. Buying early includes the Vestments of the Order costume. At launch, Guild Wars Afterlife will move to its standard price of 29.99 USD/EUR.
