Guild Wars 2’s Halloween Festival Returns With New Rewards Until November 3
Guild Wars 2’s annual Halloween event, Shadow of the Mad King, is live now and runs through November 3. Lion’s Arch is back in full spooky mode, with access to the Mad Realm, seasonal activities, returning minigames, and a new batch of rewards to chase.
This year’s Annual Halloween Rituals meta-achievement awards the Primeval King’s Wrappings headpiece, plus a choice of Fog Machine weapon. Players can also spend Candy Corn Cobs and other festival materials on items like the Plush Mad King Backpack and Mini Longhaired Black Cat.
- New decorations from Deft Lahar in Lion’s Arch include Plush Zhaia, Plush Mad King, Foreboding Raven Tree, and Foreboding Raven Roost.
- Mad King Thorn’s “Your Mad King says…” event runs in Lion’s Arch every two hours, with treasure keys as rewards.
- The Mad King’s Labyrinth is back with creature farming, mount racing, trick-or-treat bags, the Grand High Viscount of Candy Corn, and the Labyrinthine Horror.
- The Mad King’s Clock Tower jumping puzzle returns, alongside the slower Stopped Clock Tower version.
- Ascent to Madness is available again as a dungeon fight against Mad King Thorn.
- Reaper’s Rumble, Lunatic Inquisition, and the Mad King’s Raceway are also part of the festival lineup.
Players can enter the Mad Realm through Magister Tassi’s Invitation in their in-game mail. Lion’s Arch is the main hub, with portals from every major city for players level 35 and up, or for anyone who owns an expansion. Haunted doors in the Village of Shaemoor and Village of Smokestead also lead in, while Kessex Hills and Gendarran Fields have more haunted doors for trick-or-treating.
The Gem Store has its usual seasonal rotation too. Halloween items such as the Witch’s Outfit are 20% off until November 3, and the Black Lion Chest now includes a guaranteed Evon Gnashblade Trick-or-Treat Bag with a chance at the Flowing Sand Cape. A new Autumn Garden Homestead Package is available for 800 gems.
