Fractured Conquest’s Next Playtest Is Set for July 23

Happy Cauldron Games will run the next Fractured Conquest playtest on July 23, with applications available through the game’s community channels. The test is focused on early core systems, so players should expect rough edges, placeholders, and plenty of features that are still being worked into shape.

According to the official announcement, this build includes several changes aimed at improving the basic feel of play after the last test. The team is looking for feedback on visibility, movement, building, fortifications, and early combat.

  • An updated Player Vision System, meant to better show what players can see and how visible they are to others.
  • New tactical elements tied to positioning and cover.
  • Visual and interaction updates for crafting and refining stations.
  • Overhauled player and cart movement, plus rebuilt navigation for players and NPCs.
  • Weapon auto-attack sound effects, with the Greatsword spin getting the first new weapon ability visual effect.
  • A reworked building system with placement, snapping, and rotation tools.
  • The first Tier 1 player-built fortifications, including a Base Camp, palisade walls, and watchtowers.
  • Early PvE fights and temporary faction minions using placeholder primeling models.

The playtest is less about showing off a polished slice of Fractured Conquest and more about stress-testing the basics. Happy Cauldron says it wants players to poke at these systems, see what works, and help identify what needs fixing before the game moves further along.
