Final Fantasy XIV housing bug is hiding some indoor furnishings after the item cap increase
Final Fantasy XIV’s latest patch raised the number of indoor furnishings players can place in housing, but it also introduced a display bug that’s causing some items to disappear from view. Square Enix says it has already identified the issue and narrowed it down to two specific cases.
The problem shows up when the game tries to display more furnishings than before. In some homes, certain indoor items may not appear properly even though they’re still placed. The developers said they’re aware of the bug and are working on a fix.
For now, the important part is that this seems to be a visual issue tied to housing display behavior, not players losing their furniture outright. That should be a relief for anyone who started redecorating after the furnishing limit went up.
Housing changes tend to get a lot of attention in FFXIV for obvious reasons. Personal and Free Company housing is limited, and players who have a house usually put a lot of time into decoration tools and item layouts. So even a bug that only affects how furnishings are shown can be a pretty noticeable problem.
Square Enix hasn’t shared a timeline for the fix in the source provided, but the issue has at least been acknowledged quickly. If you’ve noticed missing indoor furniture since the patch, this is likely the cause.
