Final Fantasy XIV expands matchmaking across NA and EU data centers in Patch 7.58

Final Fantasy XIV is expanding same-region player matching to North American and European data centers with Patch 7.58, scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2026. The feature was previously introduced on Japan’s data center, and it changes how players are matched and grouped across logical data centers within the same region.

Right now, many systems are limited to a player’s logical data center. After the patch, those systems will work across the full physical data center instead. In plain terms, NA players will be able to match and recruit across NA, and EU players across EU, regardless of their current world.

  • Duty Finder and Party Finder will work across the full physical data center.
  • Crystalline Conflict ranked matches will match across the physical data center.
  • Cross-world linkshells, PvP teams, fellowships, and some friend list functions will expand across the region.
  • Free Company chat will work across the physical data center, though joining Free Companies is still limited to your Home World.
  • Housing, retainers, linkshells, and market board rules are not changing.

World travel is changing too. Players visiting another logical data center in the same region will use “Visit Another World Server” at an aetheryte in Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, or Ul’dah, rather than Data Center Travel. A new dropdown will let players pick the logical data center and world they want to visit.

Data Center Travel will no longer be used for travel between logical data centers inside North America or inside Europe. It will still allow travel from North American and European data centers to Oceania.

Square Enix also says cross-world linkshells, PvP teams, and fellowships are being consolidated into a single database per physical data center. If duplicate names exist after the merge, some may have a number added to separate them. Character, retainer, Free Company, and regular linkshell names are not affected.

Players who ended up in nine or more cross-world linkshells through prior data center travel won’t lose them immediately, but anything over the active limit of eight will be deactivated until they clean things up with the “Organize CWLS” feature. Patch 7.58 maintenance is expected to last 24 hours, with the final schedule coming later.
