Farhaven Announced as a 16-Player Co-op Sandbox RPG From Dragon Snacks Games

Dragon Snacks Games has announced Farhaven, its debut game and a co-op sandbox RPG built around small, private persistent worlds for up to 16 players. The studio is calling it a “FriendMO,” basically an MMO-style shared world without the thousands of strangers.

In Farhaven, players build and decorate a shared magical town, take on jobs, farm, fish, cook, craft, and head beyond the Mist for procedurally generated adventures. There’s combat, loot, townsfolk to befriend, and romance options too, with progress feeding back into the whole group’s town.

The main hook is asynchronous co-op. If one player logs in and finishes a building, clears an adventure, or unlocks something while everyone else is offline, that progress opens things up for the whole town. The idea is that the world keeps moving, but only for the friend group that owns it.

Dragon Snacks says Farhaven is currently in alpha and “systems complete,” with development now focused mostly on adding content like more jobs, weapons, stories, art, and areas. More than 300 people have signed up for the playtest so far, according to the studio, with average sessions running around 50 minutes.

The Steam page and Kickstarter campaign page are live now, though the source announcement did not include direct links. Farhaven is planned to launch next year, and players can currently wishlist it, follow the Kickstarter, join the playtest, or hop into the game’s Discord.
