EVE Online’s Cradle of War Update Changes Ansiblex Travel on September 22
EVE Online’s Cradle of War Major Update arrives on September 22, and its biggest change is aimed straight at nullsec force projection. Ansiblex jump bridges are getting a new capacitor system that limits how many ships can move through before the structure needs time to recharge.
The cost to use an Ansiblex will depend on ship type and distance from the owning alliance’s capital system. Moving outward across an alliance’s territory will cost more, while traveling back toward the center will be cheaper. CCP says Ansiblexes will also be restricted to subcapital ships and only usable by members of the alliance that owns them, meaning coalition partners will need their own routes or other travel options.
That’s a major shift for nullsec logistics and fleet response. Large groups can still maintain wide networks, but moving big fleets across them quickly should take more planning. Smaller roaming groups may also have a clearer read on what can realistically respond to them and from where.
- Pirate Insurgencies are being shortened and made more active, with players getting more influence over where corruption spreads next.
- Forward Operating Bases will have shorter reinforcement cycles, pushing groups toward finishing fights rather than holding sites open.
- Class 1 to Class 3 wormhole combat sites are being updated with improved NPC behavior, clearer objectives, and cleaner visuals.
- The Rampant Drone Fabricator will award more Fabricator Data, and the Pochven LP Store will accept that data for new rewards, including drone module mutaplasmids and a Hybrid Drone skill book.
- Pochven sites are being adjusted, with Vigilance Points rising to 12 pilots and Observatory Flashpoints dropping to 12.
- Marauders and black ops battleships are getting lower mass, while several assault ships, heavy assault cruisers, lancer dreadnoughts, and Triglavian production costs are also being touched.
The update also adds some quality-of-life help for players tracking objectives. The info panel will be able to follow up to five achievements at once, which should make Military Campaign progress easier to manage before the first campaigns wrap up.
