ESO Adds Markarth to the Base Game on November 9

The Elder Scrolls Online is making Markarth part of the base game on November 9, giving all players access to the Reach zone and its storyline without needing to buy the DLC separately. It follows Greymoor’s move into the base game in October as ESO continues through Season Two.

November is also bringing a few returning events and another Public Test Server update for PC and Mac players. The focus is pretty heavily on Skyrim and the Nords, with extra rewards tied to Western Skyrim, Markarth, PvP, and the ongoing Witches Festival.

  • Witches Festival continues through November 4, with bonus event rewards for hunting monsters around Tamriel.
  • Update 52 testing is still live on the PC/Mac PTS, with the PTS2 build scheduled for November 2. It includes player-experience changes planned for the end of Season Two, plus early content tied to Season Three.
  • Markarth joins the base game on November 9, unlocking the Reach zone and its main story for all ESO players.
  • Golden Pursuits: Return to Western Skyrim runs November 9 through December 2, offering bonus rewards for adventuring, exploring, and digging up Antiquities. Rewards include a pet, mount, and Antiquities leads.
  • Whitestrake’s Mayhem returns November 12 through November 23, bringing ESO’s PvP event back with bonus rewards.

ZeniMax also notes that more surprises are planned as Season Two continues, though it hasn’t detailed those yet. For now, the big takeaway is simple: if you skipped Markarth when it launched as paid DLC, you’ll be able to head into the Reach for free starting November 9.
