Elder Scrolls Online Is Now on PC Game Pass With Xbox Cross-Progression
The Elder Scrolls Online is now available through PC Game Pass, giving subscribers another way to play through the Microsoft Store or Xbox PC app. This version is tied into Xbox Play Anywhere and runs on the Xbox-side service setup, with support for gamepad, mouse and keyboard, and handheld PCs like the ROG Xbox Ally devices.
For existing Xbox console players, the big point is cross-progression. If you log in with the same Xbox account, your Xbox characters should be available when playing the Microsoft Store or Xbox PC app version on PC. That cross-progression only applies between Xbox consoles, the Microsoft Store version, and the Xbox PC app version.
Players coming from Steam, the standalone PC launcher, PlayStation, or other platforms won’t be merging accounts here. Those remain separate master accounts, so this isn’t a full account-unification rollout across every ESO platform.
According to the official announcement, launching the Game Pass version uses the Gamepad UI by default, though both controller and mouse-and-keyboard controls are supported. ZeniMax Online also says the experience has been tuned with handheld PC play in mind.
The PC Game Pass launch lands during a busy stretch for ESO. The team is also teasing ESO Season One around the Xbox Games Showcase, with Update 50 set to follow on June 8.
