Digital Bros buys Wuchang: Fallen Feathers IP from Leenzee for about $4.6 million

Digital Bros has acquired the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers intellectual property from developer Chengdu Lingze Technology, also known as Leenzee, for roughly $4.6 million.

The company published the soulslike through its 505 Games label and said the game has already sold 1 million copies, generating about $35.1 million in revenue. In a press statement, Digital Bros said owning the IP outright will let it make faster decisions about the game’s future and any related investment, while also removing future royalty payments to the developer.

The deal was valued at RMB 32 million, or about €4 million, and Digital Bros said it will fund the purchase through its existing credit lines. The company also said it doesn’t expect the acquisition to meaningfully change the business outlook it previously shared for the current fiscal year.

For players, this doesn’t come with any announced update, sequel, or expansion. What it does confirm is that Digital Bros now has full control over the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers brand going forward, rather than just publishing the current game.
