Crimson Desert Hits 6 Million Sales as Pearl Abyss Sets Summer Roadmap
Crimson Desert has sold 6 million copies since launching in March, Pearl Abyss says. The studio also confirmed that DLC is in development, though it hasn’t shared details yet on what that add-on content will include or when it’s coming.
The sales figure puts Crimson Desert as the second best-selling game of 2026 so far, according to market research firm Circana. Pearl Abyss had already credited the game for a major Q1 revenue jump, so the milestone isn’t coming out of nowhere, but it’s still a strong start for a new IP.
Before any DLC arrives, Pearl Abyss is laying out its plans for the next few months. In a new roadmap post, the studio says updates from June through September will focus on story flow, character improvements, new combat content, and quality-of-life changes.
- Story scenes tied to Kliff’s journey are being adjusted to make the narrative clearer and easier to follow.
- Damiane and Oongka, the game’s other playable characters, are getting gameplay improvements so they have more room to stand out.
- Re-blockade content will get a new phase, stronger pacing around blockade events, defensive stronghold objectives, and better rewards.
- New combat-focused content is planned, though Pearl Abyss hasn’t detailed what form it will take yet.
- Non-combat systems like trading and farming are also getting improvements.
- Cross-save and cross-progression are in the works, letting players continue their save across platforms.
Pearl Abyss says the roadmap highlights aren’t the full list of changes coming over the summer. For now, the clearest takeaway is that Crimson Desert’s post-launch support is moving on two tracks: polish for the existing game, and longer-term DLC work still waiting for a proper reveal.
