Capcom Q1 profits climb as Pragmata and Resident Evil drive sales
Capcom reported a strong first quarter for the three months ended June 30, 2026, with sales and profit both up sharply year over year. The company pointed to the April launch of Pragmata, steady catalog sales, and another big quarter for Resident Evil as the main drivers.
Total unit sales hit 23.81 million for the quarter, up from 14.16 million during the same period last year. Pragmata has sold more than 2.5 million copies worldwide, including 1 million in its first two days and 2 million within 16 days.
- Net sales were ¥70.4 billion, up 54.7% year over year.
- Operating profit was ¥41 billion, up 66.9% year over year.
- Ordinary profit was ¥41.4 billion, up 81.1% year over year.
- Net income was ¥29.1 billion, up 69.2% year over year.
Capcom’s Digital Contents business did most of the heavy lifting, bringing in ¥54.6 billion in net sales and ¥37.5 billion in operating profit. Catalog titles accounted for 21.26 million units, with Capcom citing pricing, animated tie-ins, and multiplatform releases as factors behind the growth.
Resident Evil Requiem has now passed 8 million copies sold, while Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 2 also continued to sell during the quarter. Devil May Cry 5 reached 14 million cumulative sales, and Street Fighter 6 was also named as a contributor thanks to stronger links between the game and esports activity.
According to the report, Capcom says it’s still on track for its full-year forecast of ¥210 billion in net sales and ¥58 billion in net income for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027.
