Camelot Unchained Update 0.50 Adds Scouts and Craftable Trebuchets

Camelot Unchained update 0.50 goes live today with two headline additions: the new Scout archetype and the game’s first pass at siege weapons. Each Realm gets its own Scout class, while crafters can now build deployable trebuchet kits for use in RvR zones.

Scouts are built around mobility, utility, debuffs, and crowd control rather than raw damage. The Arthurian Spectre can use Ghost Form, the Tuathan Wisp gets Vanish while under 50% health, and the Viking Arisen has a “cheat death” passive that leaves them at 1 health with short-term immunity and buffs before going on a five-minute cooldown.

Trebuchets are the other big piece of update 0.50. Weaponsmiths, Woodworkers, and Leatherworkers can craft deployable kits as a level 9 recipe, then place them from inventory in RvR zones. They’re single-use, last 10 minutes before deteriorating, and can be destroyed by other players. Friendly fire is disabled, so players won’t be flattening their own Realm by accident.

The update also makes siege weapons more important for Keep assaults. Player damage against outer gates has been reduced, pushing attackers toward trebuchets when trying to break through defenses. For now, trebuchets can target enemy players, NPCs, and Keep or point-of-interest gates, with walls and other target areas planned for later.

  • A new Action Speed stat reduces activation time on non-instant spells and weapon skills, though recovery time is unchanged. For now, it’s only available through the Blackguard’s Siege Stance.
  • Control effects now have diminishing returns. Repeated crowd control on the same target becomes shorter, then temporarily ineffective through CC Immunity.
  • Snare is no longer treated as a Control effect, so it won’t interact with the new diminishing returns system.
  • Class XP has been adjusted, including XP from NPC kills based on difficulty and XP for applying hostile status effects in RvR.
  • Keep respawns now apply respawn sickness, and local defender respawn timers are longer when they don’t control the local Chapel.
  • Healing potency has been slightly reduced across the board.

There are also crafting and gathering changes, including better UI identifiers for gathering capture points, higher candleberry minimums from medium and large bushes, and a lower candleberry cost for making wax. The patch includes class balance changes, new Scout and trebuchet audio, combat audio improvements, and a batch of bug fixes tied to recipes, gathering logs, item names, and crowd control immunity.
