Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition launches February 5, with raids and Arena Season 1 to follow
Blizzard says World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition goes live globally on Thursday, February 5 at 3:00 p.m. Pacific. It’s included with a WoW subscription or game time, and it sends Classic Anniversary realms through the Dark Portal to Outland with the level cap rising to 70.
Alongside Outland and the 1–70 progression, the Anniversary Edition includes Blood Elves and Draenei (which are already available in the pre-patch), plus Burning Crusade staples like flying mounts and the Jewelcrafting profession. Blizzard’s official post also lays out the early endgame schedule for PvP and raids.
- February 5, 3:00 p.m. PST: Expansion launch (Outland opens, level cap to 70)
- February 17: PvP Arena Season 1 begins with each region’s weekly reset
- February 19, 3:00 p.m. PST: Karazhan, Gruul’s Lair, and Magtheridon’s Lair unlock
One notable difference from the original Burning Crusade Classic rollout is that the Anniversary Edition is launching with the Guild Bank available right away. Blizzard describes it as an in-bank shared vault with purchasable tabs, starting at 100 gold for the first tab and increasing in price for additional tabs.
Blizzard is also selling a Level 58 Character Boost (Anniversary) as a standalone purchase starting January 13, following its inclusion in the Outland Epic Pack.
Finally, Blizzard reiterated that players who do not want to move forward into Burning Crusade on these realms can use free transfers from Anniversary Realms to Classic Era realms for a limited time.
