Blizzard’s First WoW Forever Podcast Talks Beta Feedback and Early Tuning

Blizzard has released the first episode of its official World of Warcraft: Forever Podcast, with senior game designer Josh “Aggrend” Greenfield and lead Classic designer Tim Jones discussing the beta alongside creators Countdown To Classic and Xaryu.

The hour-plus episode focuses on early beta reactions, including feedback on campfires, social features, the new Skyborne race, and how Forever’s opening levels compare to Classic Era. Blizzard said its data shows levels 1 through 20 are currently a bit slower in Forever than in Classic Era.

The team also touched on art direction for Druid forms, acknowledging feedback that some designs look too polished for a Classic-style Azeroth. Layering bugs are still being worked on, too.

One concrete tuning point: Blizzard plans to pull back some blue-quality quest rewards in the early game. The goal is to keep progression closer to the older white-to-green-to-blue gear curve instead of handing out stronger items too quickly.

Outside the podcast, Blizzard is still enforcing its code of conduct around inappropriate character names in the Forever beta. Players can also submit feedback through a survey in the Battle.net launcher.
