ArcheAge Chronicles Devs Outline Early Access Launch Fixes and Known Issues
ArcheAge Chronicles hit Early Access on Nov. 3, 2026, and the launch has come with a batch of progression bugs, crash reports, and control complaints. The development team says it’s reviewing reports from Discord, Steam Discussions, and other community channels, with some fixes already prepared for deployment.
The biggest confirmed fixes target two progression blockers: tutorial quests that can stop players from moving forward, and boss encounters where leaving the area and coming back can prevent the boss from spawning. The studio hasn’t given a patch time yet, but says those fixes are ready and will be applied as soon as possible.
Several other problems are still being investigated or worked around for now:
- After dying during the Malchuk encounter, the boss may fail to reappear, or players may be unable to respawn.
- Some NPC dialogue and quest progression issues can occur in areas including Cliffs of Madness.
- Dungeon progress can break if the party leader leaves or the party disbands before moving to the next area.
- Some key items are not shared across party members, so each player needs to pick up their own key.
- If a character gets stuck in terrain, players are advised to press ESC and use Escape. If that fails, restart the game and try Escape again.
The team also says it plans to improve movement key rebinding after player feedback about limited control options. Chat settings are getting attention too. For now, players can filter chat languages through Settings, Game Options, then Chat Language Filter, while a full option to hide the chat window is planned.
Party channel transfers are also being adjusted. The current button in the party UI can move players to the same channel as the party leader, but it only appears under certain conditions, and the devs say the guidance around it isn’t clear enough.
Other launch issues include unexpected crashes, anti-cheat initialization hangs, stuttering, and frame rate drops. Some crash fixes are planned for the next patch, while performance work is expected to continue throughout Early Access. Linux and Steam Deck are not officially supported right now, though the studio says it will keep evaluating those platforms.
