Amazon Games is shutting down King of Meat in April 2026, refunds coming

Amazon Games is pulling the plug on Glowmade’s online multiplayer dungeon crawler King of Meat. According to the official post on the game’s site, the servers will shut down on April 9, 2026.

The game was delisted from all storefronts on February 23, and Amazon has also disabled in-game purchases. If you already bought King of Meat, Amazon says you’ll get a full refund through your platform provider. Refunds are supposed to be automatic and processed between February 24 and April 9, 2026.

Amazon’s explanation is pretty straightforward: it says the game “has unfortunately not found the audience we hoped for,” and that it’s ending its investment in the project.

King of Meat launched in October 2025, and development had already effectively slowed down months ago. The publisher previously announced the game would stop getting updates in October 2025, when it paused development.

The shutdown also follows earlier reporting that the game missed internal expectations and that layoffs hit the studio not long after launch. Amazon Games has been a massive disappointment for its parent company, which cut jobs in the division late last year.
