Aion 2 Adds Snowfield of Sorrow, Its Toughest PvE Sanctuary So Far

NC updated Aion 2 on September 9 with a new Sanctuary called Snowfield of Sorrow, now billed as the highest-difficulty PvE content in the game. The encounter pits players against Storm Legion Commander Deltras, with rewards including Deltras’s Seal, Berserk Fear Energy: [True] Weapons, Unleashed White Night Weapons, and Unleashed White Night Guards.

Snowfield of Sorrow is split across Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulties. Entry starts at item level 5,800 and goes up to 6,200 depending on the version, so this one is aimed squarely at players already deep into progression.

There’s also a race component for the Hard clear. The first 20 forces to beat it will be listed in a Hall of Fame and receive limited rewards. The first-place group gets Pet: Golden Void and the title “First to Shatter the Sword of Frost and Cold.” Places 2 through 5 get Silver Void, while the remaining top-20 groups get Bronze Void.

The patch also adds a post-run commendation system, letting players rate teammates in categories like Outstanding Skill, Reliable Guardian, Dedicated Support, Excellent Leadership, and Kind Mentor. Alongside the new Sanctuary, NC revamped skill presets, added World Marks for use across Fields, Expeditions, Transcendence, Sanctuaries, and the Abyss, and introduced dye pattern size controls.

NC also used a September 8 livestream to preview a few upcoming additions, including Soul Inscription auto-tuning and a new Ordeal called Temple of Fire, which is planned for players at item level 4,800 and above.
