AdventureQuest Worlds Infinity Kickstarter closes at nearly $2 million

Artix Entertainment’s Kickstarter for AdventureQuest Worlds Infinity has wrapped up at about $1.98 million from more than 25,000 backers. The campaign was for a rebuilt version of the long-running browser MMO, aimed at bringing it to modern devices while the original AQ Worlds and AdventureQuest 3D remain online.

According to the official campaign page, the project blew past a long list of stretch goals during its run. That includes extra story content, more classes and bosses, Steam achievements, guild halls, additional Steam keys for backers, and a battle concert planned for launch.

The fundraising total stands out on its own. MMO Kickstarters still happen, but it’s not common to see one finish this high. Even before the final day, the campaign had already locked in funding almost instantly thanks to its symbolic $1 goal, so the real story here was how far fan support would go by the end.

AdventureQuest Worlds Infinity is essentially a reboot and full rebuild of the original game rather than a shutdown-and-replace situation. For players still active in the older version, that’s the key bit of context: Artix has said the current game isn’t being taken offline as part of this project.

The total could shift slightly depending on post-campaign processing, but as it stands, AdventureQuest Worlds Infinity finished as one of the bigger MMO crowdfunding campaigns in recent years.
