Diablo Immortal update adds Chaos Convoy PvP and Monster Commanders in dungeons
Diablo Immortal is rolling out a new update globally by tomorrow, headlined by a limited-time Battleground called Chaos Convoy and a new dungeon enemy type called Monster Commanders.
Chaos Convoy starts as soon as the update goes live and runs through February 23. The twist is randomized power progression: before the match begins, you pick a “Gift of Corvus” from a random set, then get another choice every 90 seconds. With more than 100 possible gifts, builds can swing mid-match with effects like boosted damage-over-time, faster movement, spectral weapon summons, and reduced cooldowns.
On the PvE side, Monster Commanders are being added to dungeons. These enemies can rally nearby monsters into formations and coordinate attacks, with two formations available at launch. The idea is that players will need to read what’s happening, adjust, and disrupt the group’s coordination during the fight.
There’s also a daily incentive: the first Monster Commander you defeat each day guarantees a Legendary item, with additional rewards scaling based on encounter difficulty. Separate from that, new Legendary gear is now dropping for each class in Inferno XI difficulty and above.
Finally, the Bout of Realms PvP tournament is coming back, with registration opening February 25. This time it will not be cross-regional. Blizzard’s patch notes also outline returning events including Tong Shi’s Renewal, Winds of Fortune (a 24-hour real-time buff), and Untold Tales, alongside a new battle pass.
