Pocket Luna

Pocket Luna was a mobile MMORPG that leaned heavily into community features, cozy hangouts, and a lighthearted dungeon loop. Between dressing up chibi characters in a steady stream of outfits, teaming up for instanced stages, and taking part in social systems like weddings and guild hot springs, it aimed to capture the friendly side of MMO culture in a colorful, anime-inspired package tied to the Luna Online name.

Overview

Pocket Luna Overview

Pocket Luna was designed around the idea that an MMO can be as much about downtime as it is about combat. Alongside the usual questing and dungeon clearing, players could participate in weddings, invite others to ceremonies, and spend time with guildmates in social spaces like the hot spring. The guild framework also pushed cooperative play by rewarding groups with extra experience and stat bonuses when tackling dungeons or objectives together.

Progression followed a stage-based format. Instead of a single continuous world for combat, most fights played out in instanced, linear stages that you cleared in sequence. There was still a shared hub where players could gather, chat, and show off cosmetics, which helped maintain the MMO atmosphere between runs.

At the start, players chose from three jobs: Warrior, Magician, or Assassin. The remaining two could be unlocked later through leveling, which gave the class system a sense of growth over time rather than front-loading every option. Before entering a dungeon, you could also adjust your setup, including swapping abilities and elemental choices to better match enemy weaknesses (for example, bringing water-aligned skills into fire-themed encounters).

Combat followed the familiar mobile MMORPG control style. You moved by tapping a destination, triggered one of three skills from the right side of the screen, and basic attacks occurred automatically when you were in range. Auto-play was available for dungeon runs, but the game still gave reasons to pay attention, particularly through trap-filled floors. Avoiding traps could earn bonuses, so manual movement often felt worthwhile even if you left attacks to automation.

A major part of power progression came from minions, AI companions that could accompany you in dungeons. Players could field up to three at once, and minions were acquired through summoning using resources earned from routine content like daily missions, or through premium currency. During fights, building up your attack gauge eventually enabled Awaken Transform, a temporary power-up that boosted stats and unlocked stronger, quick-time-event style actions for a brief window.

Pocket Luna Key Features:

  • Linear Stage Based Progression – battles happen in instanced stages that are cleared one after another.
  • Marriage – formal in-game weddings with ceremonies, guests, and gift purchases for other couples.
  • Guilds – join a guild for cooperative tasks, shared activities, and social spaces like the hot spring.
  • Upgradeable AI Companions – summon and bring up to three minions to support you in dungeon content.
  • Ability and Element Switching – adjust skill loadouts and elements before entering a dungeon to target weaknesses.
  • Auto and Manual Combat – auto-play can handle the basics, but trap layouts encourage manual movement for better clears.
