Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Overview
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 carries over the first game’s overall blueprint, but it strives to be bigger and smoother across nearly every core system. You’re still a created avatar dropped into an unstable Dragon Ball timeline, taking on missions that alter—or restore—famous moments. What stands out is how much more streamlined it feels, from the social space to the range of activities you can jump into at any time.
Character creation remains central. You pick from multiple races, each with its own progression flavor and signature transformations. Saiyans can climb toward powerful Super Saiyan forms, Frieza’s race can chase a golden transformation, and humans can even unlock the Nimbus—more than just a cosmetic throwback. Those race identities help your fighter feel like a distinct Dragon Ball archetype rather than a generic stat build.
The hub isn’t just a quick stop between menus anymore. The main city is far larger than before, acting as the place to grab quests, meet other players, and access different modes. From there, Parallel Quests send you into notable Dragon Ball Z battles with variations and alternate results, providing a steady supply of PvE content.
Multiplayer also gets more emphasis, both for competition and cooperation. Arena PvP can be configured with options that lessen the impact of level differences and time constraints, shifting the focus toward matchup knowledge and execution. On the co-op side, Expert Missions put up to six players against punishing bosses that reward coordination and teamwork over simple button-mashing.

- Race-specific transformations keep advancement varied, with each of the five races earning distinct upgrades and iconic power spikes.
- Expert Missions allow teams of up to six players, emphasizing cooperative boss fights and coordinated play.
- Expanded modes for PvP include rules that downplay level and timer advantages, putting more emphasis on skill and matchup familiarity.
