BattleCry Overview
BattleCry was positioned as a 3D third-person, class-driven online shooter, closer in spirit to role-based arena brawlers than a traditional MMO. The core appeal was simple, jump into objective-focused battlegrounds with up to 32 players, pick a warrior class that complements your team, then use a mix of gadgets, mobility tools, and up-close brutality to swing the fight.
Its setting leaned into alternate history. In this timeline, the Black Powder Treaty outlawed gunpowder at the start of the 20th century, which reshaped conflict into something stranger and more inventive. The resulting Pansophic Revolution pushed nations toward new industrial breakthroughs and unconventional combat gear, creating a world where warfare is defined by specialized weapons, experimental tech, and aggressive melee-forward skirmishes rather than conventional firearms.
At match level, the game’s structure was about coordinated team play. Classes were meant to create readable combat roles and counters, while movement options like grappling and aerial traversal aimed to keep fights dynamic across the WarZones. Between battles, customization and build tweaking were intended to let players nudge a character toward preferred playstyles without losing the identity of the class.
