Windrose passes 1.5 million sales three weeks into early access

Windrose has sold 1.5 million copies in its first three weeks of early access, according to Pocketpair and Kraken Express. The pirate-themed survival game also put up a big launch on Steam, peaking at roughly 210,000 to 222,000 concurrent players during its first weekend.

That early momentum hasn’t fallen off completely, either. The game is still hitting close to 100,000 peak concurrent players, which is a strong number for an early access release just a few weeks in.

The source snippet doesn’t include much beyond the sales and player-count update, so there’s not a lot else confirmed here about upcoming patches or a full release timeline. Still, the headline is pretty straightforward: Windrose had a fast start, and it’s holding onto a sizable audience on Steam for now.

Pocketpair’s name attached to the project likely didn’t hurt visibility, but the current numbers suggest Windrose is doing more than just riding launch-week curiosity. We’ll have to wait for more detailed updates from the developers to see how that player base holds up once the initial early access rush settles.
