Throne and Liberty Update 4.12.0 Raises Gear Cap and Adds Two Nix Field Bosses
Throne and Liberty update 4.12.0 goes live after downtime beginning September 16 at 10:30 p.m. PT, or September 17 at 5:30 a.m. UTC. The maintenance window is expected to last about 4.5 hours.
The headline change is progression. The maximum equipment Item Level is moving from 80 to 90, with new armor and accessories added alongside the cap increase. Nix is also getting two new level 60 Field Bosses, Grimturg and Exodus, both found in Tumgir Hollow.
- Grimturg and Exodus will appear on the same battlefield at different times, with Peace, War, and Guild versions available.
- Three new armor sets are being added: Verdigris Covenant, Ancient Resolve, and Azure Sanctuary.
- There are 15 new armor pieces and 20 new accessories in total.
- Gear that previously capped at Item Level 80, including the new equipment, can now be upgraded to Item Level 90.
- Nix and Snowsoul Archboss Weapons now have a fixed Item Level of 93.
The update also speeds up parts of the gear grind. Equipment growth rates from Item Level 51 to 80 are being increased, while Inheritance costs are going down. Rewards are being adjusted across a wide spread of activities, including Nix Contracts, Purification, Ascended Talandre and Nix bosses, co-op dungeons, Hall of Illusion, Dimensional Trial Golden Chests, Battlegrounds, Raids, Crafting, and Material Transmutation.
There are a few quality-of-life changes in the mix too. Auto Dissolve and Auto Material Transmutation are being folded into a new Auto Sort Items menu, Material Transmutation is getting interface and filtering improvements, and players will be able to cancel crafting during the crafting animation. A Recommended Growth Setup button is also being added for weapon combinations.
On the PvP side, Amazon says the gap between maximum and minimum Hit Chance and Evasion is being reduced in Battlegrounds and Arena. Dynamic Events will now run daily at 00:00, 12:00, 18:00, and 21:00 local server time, with better rewards, while weekly Region Contribution Certificates are dropping from 7 to 3.
Three events are also active with the update: Guild Call to Arms: Defeat the Archboss, Joyful Harvest Festival Rice Cake Hunt, and the Throne’s Bounty II Event Pass. The first two run until October 8.
