THE FINALS Season 12 overhauls destruction and adds Solo Showdown
Embark Studios has detailed Season 12 of THE FINALS, titled PRIME TIME, with the 12.0 patch notes dated October 20, 2026. The big focus this season is destruction. Buildings can now bend, sag, swing, and throw debris around in more reactive ways, which should make damaged arenas less predictable from match to match.
The update also brings map reworks, a new Light playstyle called the Infiltrator, a beta solo mode, and a beta version of Dynamic Commentary that can call out players by name during notable moments. Embark says name callouts are tied to privacy settings, so Anonymous Mode prevents your name from being called to the server, while Streamer Mode blocks lines that mention other players.
- Destruction has been reworked with gradual structural damage, swinging suspended structures, blast waves from explosives, larger debris piles, and updated destruction audio and effects.
- Smoke and toxic gas clouds now react more closely to the environment and can be briefly pushed back by explosions.
- Monaco, Seoul, Skyway Stadium, and Las Vegas Stadium have received visual updates and layout changes. Las Vegas Sandstorm is returning, while the original Las Vegas map is being removed for now.
- Low Gravity is leaving the Game Show Event rotation and is being replaced by Double Jump.
- The new Infiltrator tools for Light include True Sight, which reveals opponents through smoke, Mimic Device, which lets players disguise themselves as scanned objects, and Translocator, which swaps the player with a marked object.
- Solo Showdown launches in beta as a 12-player tournament mode built around eight rotating mini-modes. A leaderboard won’t be included in 12.0, but Embark says one is planned shortly after the season starts.
Solo Showdown’s mini-modes lean into quick, specialized fights rather than standard Cashout rules. The list includes grenade launcher aerial fights, sledgehammer knockback matches, sword duels with explosive eliminations, sniper rounds, winch-based arena knockoffs, shotgun dashes, and a one-bullet revolver mode where eliminations earn more ammo.
Season 12 also refreshes the match presentation with a new pre-match lobby, updated team intros, tunnel runs, spawn visuals, fireworks on select arenas, and reworked end-of-round sequences. Embark is also adding a limited-time Cashout playlist at launch featuring the four reworked arenas, giving players a direct way to test the map and destruction changes right away.
