Spellcasters Chronicles sets second closed beta for Jan. 29, adds new arena and expands to Asia
Spellcasters Chronicles is running a second closed beta weekend from January 29 at 10am ET (7am PT) through February 2 at 4am ET (1am PT), ahead of its Early Access launch on February 26. Quantic Dream says returning players from the first beta will automatically get in, and new players can still sign up for a chance at an invite. For those unfamiliar with the game, it’s a 3v3 action oriented MOBA style game.
The test includes everything from the first closed beta, with six playable Spellcasters, the Mausoleum map, and the game’s deck-building system. The big new addition this time is a fresh arena called The Nordic Shore, described as a five-lane battlefield with open sight lines and environmental hazards.
On the gameplay side, this beta adds six new spells, five new summons, three new buildings, plus new battle items and creatures. A few practical features are also being tested, including in-game team text chat, a player reporting system for bad behavior, an early version of ranked play, and a tool for trying out Spellcaster and Lifestone customization.
Region support is also widening. The first beta was limited to North America and Europe, but this round expands servers to Asia. Quantic Dream also says it has made performance and stability improvements based on the first test, including memory usage tweaks, and notes that the second beta comes with updated system requirements.
Alongside the beta dates, the studio introduced Founder’s Packs with four tiers priced from $8.99 to $69.99. According to the official post, the packs include guaranteed access to closed beta 2 and cosmetic rewards that can be used during the beta, with all rewards unlocking when Early Access begins.
