Soulframe Opens Preludes to All PC Players With Verse of the Veilands Update
Soulframe’s Preludes 17 update, Verse of the Veilands, is live, and the biggest immediate change is access: Digital Extremes has opened Preludes to everyone on PC. The update sends players into Midrath’s Veilands, where Ode’n corruption has spread across seven regions.
Players who have finished The Torment Stag begin in Greater Curlail, tracking down Ode’n Syphons and taking on reworked Votives for local Enclave representatives. Clearing a region’s required Votives destroys its Syphon, which brings back resources, wildlife, and fishing. More Veiland areas open up as earlier ones are restored.
Votives have also been reworked. They’re no longer a fixed star-ranked chain, and players can pick them up by approaching them in the world or tracking them from the map. Each one includes a main Oath, optional secondary Oaths, and a Sapling interaction to finish the job. Rewards now use S, A, B, and C ranks, with Enclave Favour included. Sieges and The Organ can now appear as Votives too, though randomized Votives after a region is redeemed are coming later in a hotfix.
The update also adds mounts. After redeeming two Veilands, players can unlock the Bairnday Biscuit recipe. Use it on a fully trained Wolfpup with 15 allocated stats, and it matures into a rideable Omen Wolf. For now, Omen Wolves are travel companions only. They don’t fight, can be dismissed during combat, and can’t enter dungeons.
Verse of the Veilands also brings the Ode’n Shrike Pact, six weapons, three armor sets, new runes, new finners, Ode’n Infamy in redeemed lands, and a preview of the Mines of Borro and Carntyne Colliery. Bita’s Eve is running from November 5 through December 4 in cleansed Veilands, with Veltruska added as a seasonal Agari and rewards including Goody’s Edge, the Veltruska Mask, and the Incubu Talisman.
Digital Extremes also says the patch includes combat and Arcanic balance changes, siege reward ranking fixes, inventory search and sorting updates, a 50% reduction to weapon XP requirements, and a long list of bug fixes.
