Sand: Raiders of Sophie misses its March release, server slam still planned
Sand: Raiders of Sophie has been delayed again and will no longer launch in March. Developer Hologryph and publisher tinyBuild said the setback comes after a difficult stretch for the team in Ukraine, where severe power outages and air raid alerts have disrupted development.
According to the official post, several major features are still behind schedule. The team specifically pointed to work still needed on mob AI, optimization, gear balance, anti-cheat, and onboarding for new players.
There’s no new release date yet. Instead, the developers said another development update is coming soon, along with details on a planned server slam before launch.
Sand: Raiders of Sophie is the PvPvE sandbox shooter formerly known as Sand. It mixes open-world survival and extraction-style play with large walking machines players use as mobile bases while exploring the planet Sophie.
The game had only recently been locked in for a March release, so this is a fairly late delay. For now, the clearest takeaway is that the team isn’t ready to ship and is focusing on core technical and onboarding work first.
