RuneScape’s Final Double XP Event of 2026 Is Live Through November 16

RuneScape’s latest Double XP event is now live, and Jagex says it’s the second and final one planned for 2026. Players get 48 hours of Double XP time to use before the event ends on November 16, with the usual option to pause the timer when doing activities where bonus XP isn’t the focus.

There’s a bigger catch this time. According to the official post, this is also the last Double XP event where MTX training items such as Proteans and Training Dummies can be used. Those items are scheduled to be removed from RuneScape on November 23 as part of Jagex’s ongoing effort to strip out certain MTX-linked progression items.

Jagex also said it doesn’t have any Double XP news to share for 2027 yet. The studio is still discussing how the event fits into RuneScape’s long-term design, after cutting back from previous years where the game could run as many as four Double XP events annually.

For players sitting on Proteans, Training Dummies, or other eligible items, this event is basically the last practical window to spend them for bonus XP. Once Double XP wraps up, Jagex plans to run a Well of Restoration event where players can donate leftover eligible MTX items before they’re removed from the game.

The event comes after a year of larger RuneScape changes, including the removal of Treasure Hunter and other updates aimed at reducing MTX-driven progression. For this week, though, the main thing is simple: use the 48 hours before November 16, especially if you still have training items marked for removal.
