RuneScape Mid-Game Rebalance Goes Live, OSRS Wyrmscraig Arrives July 29

Jagex has rolled out RuneScape’s mid-game rebalance, a broad update aimed at smoothing out some of the MMO’s middle-level progression. According to the patch notes, the changes touch several skills and systems, with Fletching, Agility, Divination, and God Wars dungeons getting some of the bigger adjustments.

Fletching has been cleaned up to feel more consistent, while Agility course progression has been adjusted all the way up to level 99. Divination now has improved energy gathering, and God Wars dungeons have been tuned around both difficulty and reputation gains. Jagex also made smaller changes to item drop rates, Invention perks, and how luck is applied.

The studio is already looking at more Construction changes after last week’s overhaul. Planned tweaks include better leveling benefits, more ways to reinforce structures at Fort Forinthry for Construction XP, and increased XP from construction contracts.

Old School RuneScape has news of its own: Wyrmscraig, the player-designed island, is set to launch on July 29. The announcement mentions golem crafting, goat hunting, quests, and other activities tied to the new island.

Jagex has also released a beta version of the Jagex Launcher for Linux users, which should be useful for OSRS players who’ve been waiting on official launcher support there.
