Resident Evil Requiem led US game sales in February, according to Circana
Resident Evil Requiem was the best-selling game in the US for February, according to Circana, and it also became the top-selling game of 2026 so far. Capcom’s new survival horror sequel finished No. 1 across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC storefronts during its debut month.
Circana says Requiem’s launch week sold about 60% more than Resident Evil Village, while unit sales were up more than 40% if bundled copies are excluded. The Resident Evil Generation Pack on Switch 2, which includes Resident Evil 7, Village, and Requiem, also made the monthly top 20 at No. 20.
A few other new releases landed on the February chart as well. Dragon Quest 7: Reimagined opened at No. 9, Mario Tennis Fever came in at No. 11, God of War: Sons of Sparta landed at No. 14, and My Hero Academia: All’s Justice debuted at No. 17.
Outside of new releases, Helldivers 2 had one of the bigger jumps of the month, climbing from No. 15 to No. 5. Diablo 2: Resurrected also re-entered high on the chart at No. 13 after sitting at No. 195 the previous month.
On the business side, the overall US games market brought in $4.6 billion in February. Content spending reached $4 billion, which Circana said was flat year over year. Hardware spending was up 22% to $326 million, helped by Switch 2 sales, though PS5 still led the market in both units sold and dollar sales.
Mobile was led by Monopoly Go, which moved ahead of Royal Match. Pokemon Go climbed back into the top 10 after an eight-place jump, with Sensor Tower attributing that rise to the late-February Road to Kalos event.
