PSO2 New Genesis Adds Permanent Spectral Tower Quest and Riiz Weapon Upgrades

Sega’s September 9, 2026 update for PSO2 New Genesis ver.2 adds a new permanent high-difficulty quest and another 15-star weapon upgrade path for players working on endgame gear.

The new quest, Suppression of the Spectral Tower: Northern Frozen Wastes, is built for up to four players and takes place inside a spectral tower found in Alterelum. The setup is simple: push upward through a series of tough enemy fights and try to reach the top. Sega notes that players should prepare carefully, and Meseta Boost won’t apply inside the quest.

The update also introduces the 15-star Riiz weapon series. These are upgraded from existing 15-star Kaiz weapons using Kaiz Cubes, which can be earned from the new Spectral Tower quest and related sources. Once upgraded, Riiz weapons get higher parameters, and their potential adds a PP consumption reduction effect.

There’s some cosmetic and campaign content in the same patch as well. Remix Line ’26 is live as an AC Scratch from September 9 through September 23, bringing arranged versions of earlier outfits, including a checkered Cardisett and an alternate Manicata Tatuya pattern. Its count bonus includes a new Skill Ring Enhancement Substitute Material/+4.

Sega’s Autumn Gift login campaign is also still running into its second week, with N-Special Ability Transfer Pass Assist Tickets and scratch tickets available for players who log in.
