Pantheon dev update covers PTR work on masteries, armor, and zone polish

Visionary Realms has shared a new look at what’s coming together for Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen’s Combat and Progression Update, including work headed to the PTR as the team keeps preparing for the game’s eventual 1.0 launch.

According to the official post, the studio is still focused on class work, remaining masteries, zone readiness, armor conversion, and several backend systems players will need to test before launch.

  • New tools are being built to speed up work on abilities and masteries.
  • Badia de Cara is getting final population passes before combat playtesting.
  • The Port of Rulun is being polished, including collider cleanup meant to help performance.
  • Character animations for running with weapons drawn are still being refined.
  • Armor is starting to move over to the game’s newer armor system.
  • Loot tables are being updated with additional drops, including rare items.

The art and design teams are also working through Faerthale Forest and Oldwood, laying out what assets are needed and building environmental pieces like rocks, trees, floors, pillars, and structural blocks. The update also mentions more hairstyles for players and NPCs, along with model work such as the Spriggan.

On the systems side, Visionary Realms is preparing crafting recipe data conversion, continuing work on crafting and gathering support, and testing the market system so players can eventually try it. Bug fixing is ongoing too, including issues that affect client and server performance even when they aren’t obvious in regular play.

The studio has said this PTR cycle was expected to take time, since the Combat and Progression Update is tied closely to getting Pantheon ready for 1.0. No specific PTR date was given for these pieces in the update.
