Pantheon details armor and resistance changes ahead of its spring combat update

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is reworking two of its core defensive stats in a combat balance update planned for later this spring. Visionary Realms says armor and resistances haven’t been doing enough in actual play, based on both player feedback and internal testing.

According to the official post, armor will matter more at lower levels, while higher-level scaling is being adjusted to create more gear and build choices. Resistances are also getting a bump, with the studio saying even a small amount of elemental resistance should have a noticeable effect after the patch.

One of the more interesting parts of the change is how enemy resistances will work. If players push a target’s resistance below zero, that enemy becomes vulnerable to that damage type and takes extra damage from it.

For a game like Pantheon, where group combat and class roles are a big part of the pitch, that could make defensive gearing and debuff setups more important than they are now. Visionary Realms didn’t attach a specific date to the update beyond later this spring, so the exact rollout window is still unclear.
