Mortal Online 2 Shifts to Smaller Monthly Updates Through End of Year

Star Vault is changing how it updates Mortal Online 2 for the next few months. Following the latest patch, the studio says the MMO is entering what it calls the “Era of Refinement,” with a goal of releasing smaller patches at least once a month through the end of 2026.

The plan is to move away from the bigger, slower update cycle that brought larger releases like the Reckoning and Sarducaa expansions. Instead, Star Vault says the next stretch of patches will focus on balance changes driven by analytics, quality-of-life fixes, and smaller additions to existing systems.

That should mean more frequent tuning for combat, gameplay systems, and other areas the team says aren’t behaving the way it wants. Star Vault also noted that quicker patches should make it easier to correct changes that go too far, rather than leaving players waiting months for follow-up adjustments.

The first patch in this new cadence is currently planned for PTR testing on October 14. The studio is asking regular test server players to give feedback before these updates move to the live server, since each patch is expected to include a larger number of smaller tweaks.

Mortal Online 2 remains a full-loot sandbox MMORPG set in Nave, with players handling gathering, crafting, trading, housing, settlement building, and open-world conflict. For now, the big takeaway is simple: fewer giant drops, more regular tuning passes.
