Fortnite is back on Google Play worldwide, and Creative now has Star Wars tools
Fortnite is now back on Google Play for Android users worldwide, ending a long stretch where the game had to be installed through other means. Epic confirmed the return in an official post, which also notes a few mobile-specific additions tied to the current season.
For players, the practical part is simple: you can download Fortnite from Google Play again. Epic also says mobile users can check out the latest season content, updates for Marvel Blitz, and a new portrait mode for Festival Main Stage. The company is still pushing its own payment option too, with discounts for purchases made outside Google Play billing.
Epic also rolled out new Star Wars tools for Fortnite creators. According to the announcement, creators can now build Star Wars-themed experiences in Fortnite using characters, lightsabers, and Force powers, with more content planned later.
There is a catch, though. Those tools come with a pretty strict set of brand rules. Epic says creators can’t use Star Wars characters or items in experiences that promote or attack real-world wars, politics, social issues, or religion. They’re also not allowed to name their islands after existing official Star Wars titles.
So the big changes this week are pretty clear: Fortnite is easier to get on Android again, and Creative builders have a new licensed toolbox to work with, as long as they stay inside Disney and Epic’s guardrails.
